First Blog

Well, today I finally created a blog for myself. A place where I can write down all the crazy things that happen in my life. Like just now...as I was creating this blog, Colin was nodding off in his high chair while finishing his lunch. You might think that's no big deal, but he's 21 months old and that's NEVER happened before...the kid barely sleeps anywhere but his crib. So I quickly scooped him up, washed him up as much as I could (he'd been eating Cheetos...I know...not the healthiest, but he LOVES 'em) and went upstairs to put him down. Wish I could say that was the end of the story...but it's not! Of course he wakes up when I was washing him off - enough to put up a bit of a fight going down...can never be perfect! It's ok though, he settled down quickly and I actually think I got him down in less than 5 min. You see, Colin's NOT the type you can put down for a nap AWAKE! Bedtime...no problem, but naps, for some reason he's got to be asleep or else he screams bloody murder! But lately, he's been going down quicker (used to be a good 10-20 min. routine of rocking, making sure he was asleep for a few min. before putting down, etc.) and sleeping longer...1.5 hrs. This is a major miracle for us as only a few short weeks ago, his average nap was 45 min. long and this was for a good 6 months or more!

Ryan's watching "Boomerang" television...a cable channel w/all the old school cartoons I watched when I was a kid. He loves to watch the Smurfs, Pink Panther, Flintstones and a bunch more. It's so weird listening to him sing the theme songs to these cartoons...very cute. I allow him to watch too much tv though...Colin too. I get caught up in the whole email/surfing the net thing and they're over there filling their heads w/senseless cartoons. As soon as Colin's up from his nap, we're going on an outing...somewhere to get them away from that tv.

Well, I like this blogging thing so far...I find I could go on and on and on, but I'd better not...gotta chat w/Julie :)
